I bought a used car for 2K off a friend from work. He works offshore as well as me and keeps using this as an excuse as to why I never get a check. I bought this car and waited for 6 months on the title . I told him finally that I would return it and I wanted my money back.I told him he could make payments because I understand 2K is a lot to give over at once. He still owes me 1700. I have copies of the checks made out to him and emails. I can also get bank statements showing he cashed the checks. It's going on a year now and the whole situation still is not remedied I bought the car from him. He lives in Lake Charles , La and I lived in Livingston , Tx ; which court system should I use?Can I sue him? I have no clue how to do any of this. moved here a year ago and haven't really gone out and gotten to know anyone. My husband and I definitely have learned a few things . You have to be d*** to people basically. The other lesson we learned is to NEVER EVER let anyone stay with us.You end up losing friends over being a lot nicer than you would a stranger.
